Hockey commitment graphics.
From juniors to the NCAA announcement — a finished commit edit in your new school's colors, from one game photo.
Free to download · No account · Any school, any level

Hockey commitments work differently from every other sport. Players commit at 16 or 17, then spend one to three years in junior hockey before they ever enroll, so the commitment post has a long shelf life: it gets reposted when you sign with your junior team, again when you are named a captain, and again the day you finally step on campus. It needs to look right for a while.
CommitGraphics turns one game photo — a shot off the rush, a save, a battle on the boards — into a finished hockey commit edit designed around your photo and your school's real colors. Enter the school and its state, and the engine pulls the identity in. The name, position and class year are placed exactly as you type them.
It covers the entire path: the early verbal from midget or prep, the junior signing with a USHL, NAHL, BCHL or OJHL club, and the NCAA arrival. D1, D3 and ACHA all render the same way.
A minute from done
Your details
Name, position — F, D or G, or LW, C, RW — number and the year you expect to enroll, since hockey classes are dated by arrival.
Your school
Type the school and its state. Real colors and identity are pulled in automatically, from Hockey East to the NCHC to D3 conferences.
Your photo
One game shot: a shot release, a save, a celebration at the glass. Prep, midget and junior photos all work.
Make it official
Two finished designs per tap. Regenerate until it's the one, then let the recruiting pages and your junior club run with it.
Built for hockey
Hockey commits enroll years later. Put the year you arrive on the graphic, not the year you committed.
Half of college hockey is Division III. The same design quality goes to a NESCAC or MIAC commit as to a Hockey East one.
The program's actual palette, automatically, so the post looks like it came from the team's account.
Instagram post, Story, square and X in one download for your page, your junior club and the reposts.
You committed at 16 and arrive at 20. The post gets shared the whole way.
The CommitGraphics difference
Junior hockey and the long commitment
Most NCAA hockey players commit before they play a junior game, then spend one to three seasons in the USHL, NAHL, BCHL or another junior league. The commitment graphic is posted when the verbal happens, and it is reposted by the junior club when they sign you, by your prep or high-school program, and by the college when your class is announced. That is why a hockey commit edit should carry the college's colors and your enrollment year, not your current team.
Junior signings are their own post
Signing a tender or a USHL contract is an announcement in its own right. Many players make a second graphic with the junior club as the school, then a third when the NCAA program formally announces the class. One pack covers all of it.
Division III is half the sport
With roughly 20 percent of NCAA hockey players in Division I and the rest in Division III, most hockey commits are D3 commits, and there is no signing day for them: the commitment becomes official when admission comes through. Post the graphic when your coach says it is public, usually the day the school confirms.
Shooting a hockey commit photo
Rink light is hard light
Arena lighting is bright, flat and slightly green, and it flattens faces. The photos that work best are shot from a low angle near the glass with you skating toward the camera, so the face is lit from the front. Ask a parent to shoot from the corner during warmups, when you are closest and moving slowest.
Cage or visor, keep the eyes
The design engine works from your face. A full cage is fine as long as the eyes are visible and in focus; a photo shot through the glass with reflections across the visor is not. Warmup shots with the helmet on but the visor clear are the safest choice.
Goalies: the butterfly, square to the shooter
Goalies photograph best in the butterfly with the glove up, shot from just off the post so the body is square and the mask is toward the camera. A save on the far side reads as a blur.
Position, number and how it renders
Hockey positions render however you type them: F, D and G are standard, and LW, C and RW are common for forwards who want the specific spot listed. Defensemen sometimes add a shooting side, "D (L)", which renders exactly as written. Goalies use G.
Add your junior club or prep school in the caption rather than on the graphic; the graphic carries the college, and the caption carries the road. The caption guide has hockey lines that thank the billet family and the junior staff, which is the convention.
Questions, answered
Does CommitGraphics make hockey commitment graphics?
Yes. Hockey is one of the 12 sports in the app. Enter your name, position, number, enrollment year, school and state, add one game photo, and the engine designs a finished commit edit in the school's real colors in about a minute.
Which year goes on a hockey commitment graphic?
Use the year you expect to enroll, not the year you committed. Hockey players typically arrive one to three years after the verbal, and the graphic is reposted until then.
Does it work for Division III hockey commits?
Yes. D3 is the majority of NCAA hockey. Any school renders the same way, and the D3 commitment becomes official when admission is confirmed.
Can I make a graphic for signing with a junior team?
Yes. Enter the junior club as the school. Many players make one graphic for the NCAA commitment and another for the USHL or NAHL signing; both come from the same pack.
What photo works best for a hockey commit edit?
A sharp, low-angle shot near the glass with you skating toward the camera and your eyes visible through the cage or visor. Warmup photos are usually the best-lit option in an arena.
